WickerICE is a community funded & community maintained, non-refrigerated outdoor ice skating rink.

The 60' x 120' rink is open to anyone at no charge when the ice is frozen. Visitors must bring their own skates. Skate times and Field House hours are subject to change based on weather and ice conditions. WickerICE is managed and maintained by Wicker Park Advisory Council's WickerICE committee in partnership with the Chicago Park District and 1st Ward Alderman Daniel La Spata.

Family & Individual Sponsors

Help show you or your family’s support by becoming a sponsor! For a small amount ($25, $50 or $100+), family & individual sponsors will have their name and donation displayed at the rink next season and are eligible to receive a tax letter. Donate online or contact us if you’d like to send a check. Businesses must contact us to become a sponsor.

Volunteer at WickerICE

We can only keep WickerICE going with the involvement of people like you from the community. Whether it's helping monitor and maintain the rink in-season, or assisting with fundraising and awareness at other Wicker Park events during the off-season, we need you to keep the rink running. STICK & PUCK

All players must wear a helmet and are expected to help resurface the ice after playing. You must also read and sign a waiver that will be posted here at the beginning of next season, then bring the confirmation with you to play.

kids skate lessons

When open, we offer free ice skating lessons for children ages 5 - 12 from 10:00am - 11:00am on select Saturdays throughout the season, weather permitting. Lessons are free, however parents are required to sign up for 1 hour of volunteer time (or make a donation to the rink) and sign a waiver which must be brought to the lesson.
